1. My campaign message and platform is to uplift people instead of tearing them down.  It is one of love and unity; not hate, complaining and divisiveness.

2.  I chose my campaign team based upon my message and platform and not whether or not they are a Republican, a Democrat, an Independents or another third party.

 3.  I agree 100% with Tim Tebow on his views on the role of the Christian Church: "The goal is to bring people together.  We're not supposed to divide people. People are going to disagree on things, but we can have unity if our No. 1 priority is we love Jesus and our No. 2 priority is we love people. Let's agree on that and have the 300,000 churches in this country work together. If we did that, nobody would be dying of hunger."

4. Yes, I shed a tear or two when watching Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary special on Sunday evening.  I may have even sung along with my two girls Grace and Gabbie to “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen.

5. Did you know that since the 1928 Presidential election, the Republican ticket did not win the Presidency with someone not named Bush or a Nixon?

6.  $35,0000 – that is the cost a London memorabilia collector paid for a lock of hair from Beatle’s member John Lennon.

7. Hard to believe that it has been 36 years (Feb 22, 1980) since the United States Hockey Team beat the USSR (old Soviet Union) 4-3 in an Olympic Hockey semi-final game.  The “Miracle on Ice” game is still one of the greatest upsets in sports history.

8. I applaud Taylor Swift for donating $250,000 to support fellow singer Kesha Rose Sebert, who alleged physical and sexual abuse from her manager, in her ongoing contract dispute with her record label.  Said Kesha’s mother, “A person’s wealth is not measured by what they have but by WHO they help with it. And Taylor Swift is a truly rich person.”

9. “And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”  Micah 6:8 (ESV)

10.  Through Jan. 2016, Donald Trump spent the least amount of money per vote he won.  Ben Carson, spent the most.  Below are the amounts that each candidate spent per vote received:
  • $64.00 per vote – Donald Trump
  • $72.00 per vote – John Kasich
  • $153.00 per vote – Marco Rubio
  • $193.00 per vote – Ted Cruz
  • $368.00 per vote – Jeb Bush
  • $795.00 per vote – Ben Carson

  1. On the heels of Valentine’s Day, comes this story of love from California. Helen Goosenberg (age 100) and her husband Maury (age 102) celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary.  Their key to a successful marriage according to Helen is “a sense of humor is very important and just loving each other very much is the main answer for everything.”  Quipped Maury, “Everyone told us it wouldn’t last. And now, there is no one left alive to say, ‘See? I told you so.’”
  2. Mark February 23rd on your calendars as the day the burger was replaced by the hot dog.  The home of the Whopper, Burger King, will begin selling two dogs a classic grilled dog and a chili cheese dog.
  3. A 69-year old Spanish government employee, who supervised the construction of a waste water treatment plant near Seville, never showed up for work for 6 years – and still got paid because no one noticed. He was caught by the Deputy Mayor after he became eligible for a plaque honoring his 20-years of service. When questioned about his job for the plaque, the employee could not tell the Deputy Mayor what he did on the job and an investigation ensued.
  4. The organic supermarket chain Whole Foods, in an effort to attract the 92 million millennials in the marketplace, will roll out some new stores that offer tattoos.  No word if you will be able get a tattoo on your arm of a coupon worth a 5% store discount that can be scanned upon checkout.
  5. What goes up when the rain comes down?  An umbrella.  What part of the fish weighs the most?  It’s scales.  What did the lamp say when it was turned off?  I’m delighted.
  6. Have you ever heard of the Miracle Fruit AKA Miracle Berry, which is a native to West Africa?  When eaten, it binds to the tongue’s taste buds and acts as a temporarily sweetness inducer.  In other words, just after eating a lemon, it will cause it to taste sweet.  Where can I get me one of those to try?
  7. So you think Barak Obama plays a lot of golf?  In his seven years in office, he has averaged one round every 10 days.  That amount, however, pales in comparison to two former Presidents, Eisenhower and Wilson who averaged one round of golf every four days and every two days respectively.
  8. Mattel unveiled its new Barbie Dreamhouse recently that features wifi, voice-recognition and connects with a Barbie app.  Little girls will now be able to voice activate the fireplace, turn on and off the lights and change the colors of the lights.  The cost of this high-tech home in case you are wondering is $299.00.
  9. The top five selling football jerseys in 2015 were: 1. Tom Brady (Patriots)  2. Luke Kuechly (Panthers) 3. Rob Gronkowski (Patriots)  4. Odell Beckham, Jr. (Giants)  5. Cam Newton (Panthers)
  10. We are in the middle of lent so therefore, let’s look at what the most popular things are in different states that people are giving up:
  • Wine/Alcohol – Illinois, Maine, New York, & Michigan

  1. Think back to July 10, 2014.  What were you doing?  Probably outside enjoying the sunshine or on vacation.  Well, July 10, 2014 was the day that then Gov. Corbett signed the last agreed to budget in PA.  Its day #224 since PA has not signed a balanced into law.  But, we keep rolling on as Gov. Wolf unveils his 2016-2017 spending plan today.

  2. #ReedyisReady to unify.  #ReedyisReady to Grow.  Tim Reedy is Ready to get to work.

  3. Yes, I predicted that the Carolina Panthers would win big on Sunday night.  I was wrong.  Again.  My last successful prediction was in 2013 (SB 47) when I picked the Ravens over the 49ers.  Therefore, when I make my prediction for Super Bowl 51, my suggestion for you is to pick the other team.

  4. The Republican leadership in both the House and the Senate were extremely critical of Gov Wolf when he vetoed the entire budget passed by the legislature last summer.  Well, let’s go back in time to 2014 when current State Senator Scott Wagner said this of the budget signed by Gov Corbett: “If I was the governor, I would have vetoed the whole budget, and I’d have a special session. I would pull everybody back and you’d work all summer until something gets done.”  Why wasn’t this done last summer?

  5. Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”  If you are led, please pray for me that I will not become weary in this campaign.

  6. Presidential candidate Ted Cruz, who wore his Christianity on his sleeve in Iowa when trying to woo voters, has all but abandoned his faith based messages when campaigning in the less religious state of New Hampshire.  Politician or not, if you are a Christian, you should always talk about your faith no matter where you are.

  7. A man was looking out his window when he noticed that there was a snail on one of his plants.  So he took the snail and threw him as far as he could.  Ten years later, the old man heard a "tap-tap-tap" on his window.  When he looked up, he saw a very angry snail looking at him.  The snail then said to him, "Hey. What did you do that for?"  Determination. Perseverance. Always wins.

  8. The pitchers and catchers for the Philadelphia Phillies are due to report on February 18 with the remaining squad due in Clearwater, FL five days later.  There is no truth to the rumor that the Phillies have already been eliminated from playoff contention in 2016.

  9. Over the past two weeks, my campaign team and I have been out and about in the 37th legislative district gathering signatures on petitions so that my name can appear on the April 26th primary ballot.  I have been humbled at the number of registered republicans who are wishing me well in upcoming election.

  10. If you like Penn State Football and one of my campaign platforms of prison and criminal justice reform, then you are going to like an event that is being planned for March 19.  Stay tuned for more details in the next couple of weeks.

1.  US House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan tweeted over the weekend “At the end of the day, we have to work with each other to fix the country’s big problems & get things done.”  Amen Speaker Ryan.  If we replace the word country’s to Pennsylvania, his tweet now reads “At the end of the day, we have to work with each other to fix Pennsylvania’s big problems & get things done.”  #reedyisready to go to work   http://reedyisready.com/plan_to_get_pa_moving

2.  Today is groundhog day, which gives me the opportunity of honoring my grandfather Raymond Reedy, the former mayor of Lititz and huge Philadelphia Phillies fan.  If he were living, Grandpa Reedy as I called him would be turning 110 years old today.  Happy Birthday Grandpa.

3. Actual bets you can make on the Super Bowl this Sunday are as follows:
            a.   What will the color of the Gatorade be when dumped on the winning coach?
            b.   Will there be a successful 2-pt conversion in the game?
            c.    What will the first song to be played by the halftime band Coldplay?
           d.   Will Peyton Manning throw at least one interception?

4. I recently read in an article about Pennsylvania elections that almost 94% of incumbents win their reelection bids. #Reedyisready to buck that trend by winning the April 26 primary.  I am the 6%!

5. On a recent business trip while showering in the hotel, I may have poured mouth wash on my hair instead of shampoo because I grabbed the wrong bottle from the counter. At least my hair was minty fresh all day!  #eyesaregoingbad

6. I saw a cool poster titled “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten” detailing what we learned in Kindergarten. These learning principles are still very relevant today:
          a. Share everything
          b. Play fair
           c. Don’t hit people
          d. Put things back where you found them
          e. Don’t take things that aren’t yours
          f.  Clean up your own mess
          g. Wash your hands before you eat
          h. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you

7. The Presidential Election process began last night with the Iowa Caucuses, where Hillary & Bernie tied on the Democrat side and Cruz, Trump and Rubio went 1-2-3 for the GOP.  Everyone is off now to New Hampshire and then onto South Carolina and in Pennsylvania on April 26. My choice continues to be Rand Paul.

8. Lady Gaga will be singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday.  The National Anthem has been sung before every Super Bowl except in Super Bowl XI when Vikki Carr sang America the Beautiful.

9. Apple was awarded a patent recently for technology that would let you hover or wave your hands to control your devices without touching them. What’s next?  We will sometime in the future be able to control our devices just by thinking.

10. The Carolina Panthers will beat the Denver Broncos 30-13 in this Sunday’s Super Bowl.
