Raise Your Glass

While sitting at a bar, Cosmo Kramer of Seinfeld fame raised his beer glass and said, "Here's to feelin' good all the time."  With Kramer, he did feel good all the time because of his attitude.  I doubt even today's current events would carve into his jovialness.

Revelation 12:7-9 speaks about a war that took place in heaven between good and evil.   In the end, the devil, "who leads the whole world astray...was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him."  Scary stuff.  There is a spiritual battle between good and evil taking place here on earth.

Cancer. Poverty. Abortions. Bad weather. Murder. Divorce. Death. Loss of Employment.  With these atrocities and tragedies happening all around us in our daily lives, it is very easy to let our attitudes feel bad all the time.  Likewise, it is easy to throw our hands up in the air and give up fighting against all that is evil.  The devil wants our attitudes to be bad.  He wants us to give up.  He wants us to have no hope.  When we lose hope in ourselves, we look for someone or something to take care of us.  "Save us", we say to the government instead of banding together as Amercians in order to take care of each other.  We willingly give up our individual rights in order to be protected.

How do we slow down this mentality and return the power to the individual?  How can we combat evil, depair  hopelessness?  I will tell you how --- take a page from Kramer and 'raise a glass.'  It's time we begin to raise a glass to heaven and toast the One who shines His goodness everyday - God.  While the glass is raised, ask Him to build His kingdom here so that this current gloomy and depressed atmosphere is changed.

All is not lost in this nation.  The next time you are toasting someone, remember to toast God too.  You might even begin to feel good all the time when you do.

Believe that God can change hearts
Act by educating others of your beliefs
Serve this nation by standing up for your principles in a non-threatening and non-combative way
