TUESDAYS WITH TIM: 11.24.2015

1. I was at a restaurant on Sunday with the family celebrating my niece's baptism.  Even though the marquee at the restaurant said "PA Dutch Cooking", it didn't have to because the menu said it loud and clear.  The menu said that with your entree of roast beef, ham steak or chicken, you can pick one of the following vegetables:  mashed potatoes, potato filling, baked potato, french fries, baked yam or corn.

2. Many of you will be shopping on Thanksgiving or Black Friday or even on Cyber Monday in order to find those sale priced items that are on your Christmas list.  Besides those three days, I would encourage you to shop this Saturday on Small Business Saturday so that our local, independently owned businesses are supported.  Small businesses are the lifeblood of this economy, especially here in Pennsylvania.  It's time that you think locally this year   #SmallBusinessSaturday

3.  If you are in the Blue Ridge Cable viewing area, tune into Sport Talk on Wednesday at 7:00 PM to see me repay a bet by getting hit in the face with a pie.   I lost the bet when the Eagles beat the Cowboys recently.  Speaking of the Cowboys, they stand at 3-7 and are still in the race to win the NFC east..

4.  Who said this? "All a girl really wants is for one guy to prove to her that they are not always the same." (answer below)

5.  There looks like there will be no PA Budget for Thanksgiving as the proposed framework has fallen apart.  The most striking issue for me about the proposed framework was that the Republican leadership could not muster up favorable support from its rank and file members of the legislature.  There appears to be a huge division among Republicans in Harrisburg.  But who is to blame?  The leadership?  The members not in power?  Combination of both.  This is exactly why we need to replace the stale, dated solutions with new members who will bring fresh ideas and passion.  #cleanthehouse

6.  This is the 60th anniversary of the invention of green bean casserole by Campbell's Soup employee Dorcas Reilly.  She added fried onions just to make the dish look more appealing.

7.  I'll admit it.  I enjoy watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade year after year.  I am looking forward to seeing one of the four new giant balloons for the 89th annual parade - Scrat & his Acorn (from Ice Age fame).

8. The Reedy family will be out an about on fighting the Black Friday crowds with members of my wife's family.  This shopping tradition, including a stop at Build-a-Bear for new Holiday Bears, is something we look forward to each Holiday season.

9.   "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."  Galatians 6:9
